The latest video posted to my YouTube channel shows the process I took to make a simple stand for a butterfly house.
I intended to provide a stake that can be hammered into the ground and to fabricate a receiving bracket, mounted to the underside of the butterfly house, that can be placed on the stake once positioned. Furthermore, I was asked to make a stand so that the butterfly house would rest a few inches off the ground.
In the video, I start to learn how to forge and work with metal. There are a few techniques I practice which include drawing and flattening, rounding, and welding.
I’m happy to say that I don’t mind being the guy in the family/neighborhood that people go to for help. I enjoy working on projects, coming up with solutions and making people happy. I’m a pleaser.
The best part of starting a project for someone else is that the project gets done. How many times do we start projects and never finish them? I’m often guilty of starting a project only to get distracted by something else.
I eventually finish what I start but helping someone else out gives me the focus I need to ensure I complete it once started.
