Ready to give up? Are there things in life that you can’t seem to change? Things you can’t change directly?
Sometimes fighting against weakness is like trying to move a mountain. Sure, even that is possible, but very ineffective.
Maybe a better approach is to go around the mountain, to bypass it by whatever means possible (tunnel, pass, plane, or train).
When you’ve come up against that thing, don’t try and control it. Don’t fight it head-on. Give in to the fact that you’ve found your kryptonite.
And how does Superman conquer kryptonite?
He doesn’t.
He understands it though. He stays strong by avoiding it.
Now I don’t know how far I want to take this analogy except to say that Superman can never overcome (be free from) his weakness, his kryptonite, and perhaps neither can you.
There are things in this life that are our kryptonite, and if they get too close, we’re screwed.
So if we know that we have to avoid it. If we give in to the fact that we have a weakness out of our control (powerful enough to bring a superhero to his knees) how do we avoid it?
I don’t know – but we have to try
I do know that you need to stop beating yourself up for getting weak around kryptonite. I’m not saying that your actions are okay, but you can (should) let the past go without the emotional baggage and pick yourself back up.
Succeeding in life is the art of picking yourself up each time you fall. Success isn’t exclusive to failure, they are two sides of the same coin.
Get up. Move out. Continue the fight and do your best to avoid kryptonite along the way.
